CSS Responds to COVID-19
Updated on March 17, 2020.
Columbus Secure Shredding is a business unit of the Columbus Community Center. Click Here to read the organization's announcement on the COVID-19 outbreak and what the Columbus Community Center is doing to protect staff, clients, and the general public.
Out of an abundance of caution and in light of recent federal, state, and local calls for the community to engage in social distancing, Columbus Secure Shredding will be implementing the following changes to its services in order to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Changes to Service Schedules
At this time CSS will continue to service customers on their regular servicing schedules.
As a reminder, in order to avoid an unable to service fee, customers must notify CSS within 24 hours of their scheduled servicing that they are closed.
NOTE: At this time CSS is not accepting customer drop-offs at our plant. Please contact CSS and we will place your name on a call list. Once drop-offs are opened to the public again, we will be sure to contact our customers to let them know.
NAID Compliance
CSS was created nearly 20 years ago specifically to help provide jobs to persons with disabilities. Because of this, CSS has a disproportionately large number of employees who are considered to be most vulnerable to the severe aspects of COVID-19. In order to protect our employees, CSS is encouraging social distancing among healthier individuals and requiring some employees to stay home during this time; in addition, any employee exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 will immediately be removed from our work space and asked to stay home.
Effective Dates and Timelines
These changes will remain in place from March 16 to April 1, 2020 and may be extended based on the advice of health officials. A determination to extend or change the above policies will be made on or before April 1, and we will inform impacted customers as soon as possible.
Columbus Secure Shredding thanks you for your understanding during these extraordinary times for our state and nation. We remain committed to exceeding your document destruction needs. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at 385-715-5393 or contact Curtis Haring, Director of Operations, at charing@columbusserves.org.
