Job Summary:

Columbus, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide jobs and training for people with disabilities, is seeking a Routing and Production Manager to oversee operations at our shred and production facility. In addition to managing 6+ direct reports and a workforce of more than 10 employees, this position coordinates with customers, manages inventory, prioritizes work, and effectively supports and deploys the workforce to ensure quality product is delivered to customers on time and that we are efficiently servicing our customers on site.

Responsible for helping to create and maintain standard operating procedures and quality specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate activities of employees engaged in providing services or producing goods.

  • Maintain customer relationships and ensure services meet or exceed expectations and communication reinforces the business relationship.

  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.

  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet service or production goals that meet customer needs and the scope of work.

  • Determine priorities and communicate work schedules to workers.

  • Review and approve timesheets.

  • Requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.

  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions. Maintain equipment in good operating condition.

  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.

  • Service Ticket Creation and Reconciliation.

  • Team Building.

  • Set clear expectations for team’s performance and expected outcomes.

  • Set and communicate boundaries for the team.

  • Ensure the team has access to the knowledge and skills needed to do the work.

  • Set the commitment and enthusiasm level for the team.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma required; college or technical program certificate preferred. Forklift experience preferred but will train. Proven experience as a supervisor is required. Intermediate level Word and Excel experience required.

Job Requirements:

Must be 21 or older and have a valid driver’s license. Must pass a criminal background check and have an acceptable driving record. Must be able to lift 50-100 lbs. bend, kneel, stand or sit for sustained periods of time. Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred but not required. Paid training is provided.

Salary: $35,000 annually

Classification: Full-Time hourly. Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
